1959 Ebonised Zagreb Staunton Chess Pieces 3.75 Inch

Introducing the 1959 Ebonised Zagreb Staunton Chess Pieces, each standing proudly at 3.75 inches. Recognized as the Zagreb 1959 Series, these chess pieces pay homage to the world championship tournament held in Zagreb, Croatia, in the year 1959. This unique design stands out distinctly among other Staunton chess pieces, particularly in the top portion of the three main pieces—the king, queen, and bishop—gracefully embracing the opposition color. The knight is prominently visible, intricately carved with strokes across its vertebrae, almost bowing downwards, reminiscent of other Russian chess piece designs. Crafted with precision and care, these pieces are meticulously handmade by skilled artisans based in Amritsar, India. Heavily weighted to ensure stability, each piece is felted on the base to prevent any damage to the playing field. Carved from blocks of specified wood, each chess piece satisfies the intricate details and designs specific to its character.
